womens soccer…rockin the yellow jerseys


I’m always happy to arrive at the soccer games and find out that our team isn’t wearing the blue jerseys. The color is better, it pops more, and its lighter. Just like the mens team, the women’s team is also looking strong this year. Sorry I don’t have anything technical to say about shooting this game. Check the settings if you have any questions.

Back at school, shooting soccer once again


First assignment of the 2009-2010 school year, mens soccer. It was good to be back in Irvine and shooting again. Our soccer team is looking strong again this year and I’m looking forward to a good season. Hopefully I can remember to bring a stool or something to the future games so that I’m not standing around the whole time.

first car photoshoot, restricted areas, and tricky lighting


I am now driving a different car. A Honda Civic Hatchback. I was bored the other night and decided to go out to the unactive naval base in Alameda and take some shots. Usually the parking lots with fences are closed but for some reason one of the gates was open when I was over there. Nobody was around and knew it was the best location to shoot at that night.

first time in a private airplane and a tour of the bay area


At the beginning of the summer I mentioned to my friend Pablo that I wanted to take pictures from an airplane. It turned out that he actually had a family friend who had a license and had previously offered to take him up for a tour of the Bay Area. Pablo contacted the pilot Bruce Poulton and arranged a date to go flying.
