Just Another Normal Tahoe Winter…

Just Another Normal Tahoe Winter...

I planned a trip to Tahoe for this weekend about three months ago. I assumed that there would be snow like usual….and it turns out that this is the driest year since snow records have been kept. Its sunny but still chilly. Our first day up we went for a small hike since our Heavenly passes are blocked out today for MLK Day weekend.

Flashback: There was Snow in 2009

Flashback: There was Snow in 2009

This winter season is killing me so far. Its been cold with no rain or snow which doesn’t seem right. I went up to Tahoe last weekend to go snowboarding and there was barely any snow. Usually by this time of year there is a ton and there aren’t even any storms in the near forecast.

2011 USAU College Championships Women's Semifinals: UCSB vs Stanford

Burning Skirts is one of my favorite women’s teams to shoot because they are always making huge plays, dominating, and having fun. Here are a few shots from the semifinals match up between UCSB and Stanford. Lots of familiar faces in this one.

2011 USAU College Championships – Day 2

Layout catches and D’s. Those are the plays that make me want to shoot Ultimate. There is so much going on that choosing which games to shoot and which angles to shoot from is always a dilemma.

2011 USAU College Championships - Day 1

Back in May I went out to Boulder, Colorado to shoot the 2011 USAU College Championships. It was my birthday weekend and I choose to spend it working hard in the sun, meeting deadlines, and doing what I love. Plus not all was lost as I celebrated my birthday for the whole week after I got back. It was a win-win.

Field Trip to The California Academy of Science/Steinhart Aquarium

Back in July I was invited out to the California Academy of Science for work. The company that I work for, American Underwater Products (AUP), produces the scuba diving brands: Oceanic, AERIS, Hollis, Lavacore and OceanPro. It also turns out that Bob Hollis, the founder and owner of AUP, has worked with and supported the California [...]

The Daily #7 – Up Tea Party

The Daily #7 - Up Tea Party

Tea parties. What goes on at a tea party? Isn’t that what little girls and the Queen of England have in common? Those were my thoughts before I attended my first tea party this past weekend.

The Daily #6 – Presidio

The Daily #6 - Presidio

I was out in the Presidio in San Francisco yesterday and had about 10 minutes free before I needed to be somewhere. Knowing that I would be tired when I got home later that night and that I have almost exhausted all possible portraits in my house, I grabbed my camera bag from the trunk of my car and headed over for a view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

The Daily #3 – Overhead

The Daily #3 - Overhead

I had two hours free in the middle of the day and I was coming up blank on the drawing boards. After going to work and getting home at close to 11pm I knew I had to shoot something. Knowing that I only had one backdrop paper at my house and that I used it a couple days ago for a shoot I decided to shoot against a red wall in one of the rooms in my house.
